| Class to teach young hunters is going online
The Missouri Conservation Department has launched a test of new online curriculum for its hunter education classes that will allow students to complete a portion of their classwork at home. Bryan Bethel, hunting and shooting range coordinator for the Conservation Department, said the effort is in keeping with youth demographics and the need to better reach rural residents. A study by the Pew Internet & American Life Project found that 78 percent of teenagers used the Web as their primary source of news and information in 2005. Most young people are getting their information from the Internet, and we dont want to lose touch with them, Bethel said. We want to learn how to talk their language. The new Web classes will be coupled with a day of hands-on learning that will be required for the online classes, and they remain a requirement for traditional classes.

Over 2800 radio and music executives attended the Country industry's premier convention February 28 - March 2 at the Nashville Convention Center. Opportunities for Country music growth were highlighted in the two research projects presented at CRS-38 by Edison Music Research. The Hispanic study identified opportunities for Country radio and labels in that rapidly growing demographic. An in-depth study of Country radio's core listeners (P1 Research) yielded a positive outlook for the Country radio format and confirmed the Internet as an increasingly popular source of new music discovery.
Uganda: Tax Educ for Schools Or Kyankwanzi?
It is rumoured that the job of Uganda's chief tax collector, the commissioner general of Uganda Revenue Authority, carries an almost secret monthly salary of about Shs28 million (plus perks); neither confirmed, nor disputed. If the President's job did not carry an infinite range of fringe benefits and "classified" opportunities, as well as the sheer thrill of power - the exhilarating feeling that if you wanted you could order the shooting, bombing or tear-gassing of anyone without any serious consequences for yourself and your immediate family - then even President Yoweri Museveni would probably envy the chief tax collector. .
